AMBASSADOR PROGRAM!

Ambassadors are volunteers with a passionate heart for service who, together with Smiles; They plan, organize and execute medical-educational and social assistance events in the communities where they live. They are the ones who coordinate three events in the year, according to significant dates and adapted to the local calendar of each country (Children’s Day, Christmas & back to school)

HOW DO I BECOME AN AMBASSADOR?

First Complete the registration form, without leaving any details aside. We will contact you as soon as possible to finalize details to be ready and take the next step, the project.

Second, present the project to be carried out by filling out the form that you will find here on the website. Once the project is approved, all that remains is to start working to make it a reality.

PROJECT PURPOSES

Offer children a day where they feel special, cared for and loved. Through workshops, games and activities, project the idea that you have been created with a purpose and that you can fulfill your dreams of a better quality of life.

Promote education and offer basic medical care to the community or school where the child belongs, preparing the ground for the development of an educational project with greater continuity.

Organization

  • Choose a needs-assessed community or public school.
  • Confirm permissions and event details: day and time.
  • Conduct a census of the school or community.

  • Develop a detailed program; objectives, resources and materials.
  • Form a work team to help its development.
  • Meet the purposes.

  • Propose a budget for the event.
  • Raise 50% of the proposed budget of which Smiles will match up to $100.
  • Use networks to promote the event and obtain resources

PROJECT EXAMPLE

Step 1: 90 days before

  • Choose the school.
  • Ask for permissions.
  • Define the day and time.
  • Describe the project.
  • See all details.

  • Assemble the Smiles team.

  • Prepare the material.
  • Start advertising.

Step 2: 30 days before

  • Distribute the work.
  • Finalize details.
  • Define the activities.
  • Engage the team.
  • Write a min-a-min.
  • Arrive early.
  • Organize the team.
  • Start on time.
  • Engage the community.
  • Gain confidence.

Step 3: In the project

  • Dynamic and energetic welcome.
  • Songs with movements.
  • Icebreaker games.
  • Clowns or puppets.
  • Group division -Workshops-Sports – Art – Music – Values – Stories – Games – English – Health – Emotions – Hygiene – Others. (25 minute rotation).
  • Closing.
  • Songs.
  • Farewell.
  • Invite for next EVENT.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Ambassador, being a legal representative of Smiles, must consider the following responsibilities.

  • Comply with the moral values of the Foundation.
  • Protect the integrity and honesty of the Foundation.
  • Act in full communication with the Administration.
  • Function financially according to Smiles administrative protocol.
  • Use the distinctive Smiles logo at all events.
  • Evaluate your projects in order to always improve.
  • Report monetary inputs and outputs of all concepts.
  • Put children first at all times.
  • Ensure the safety of all who participate.

Another benefit apart from “making history”, “leaving traces” and changing lives for eternity are:

Have access to all the resources and training, leadership seminars and events that Smiles organizes for free.

Discounts on the Smiles project anywhere in the world where they are carried out, being part of its leadership.

The possibility of participating in the Annual Meeting of Smiles Ambassadors and Missionaries at the Smiles Amazonas Camp. (See details with administration.)

Does it cost to be a Smiles ambassador?

Of course!

Everything that is done in order to impact the world, leave traces on future generations, transform the lives of hundreds of children and their families, must have a cost. Don’t you think?

The costs are:

  • It will take you time to organize.
  • You will use your personal resources to help others.
  • They will tell you, it’s not worth it, but you will look over the moment.
  • You will get tired and want to quit, but your goals will be stronger.
  • Many obstacles, however you will turn them into opportunities.
